...And finally, as a perfect introduction into summertime, Oklahoma-exiles WOODPUSSY entertained me at Moguls with an underwater-themed night of neurotic fun that involved dancing mermaids, band members clad in scuba gear, a bubble machine and inflatable marine toys. All this, and the band's delerious muck-rock noise (culminating in a freaked-out transformation of Bowie's "Moonage Daydream" into, of course, "Teenage Wet Dream") made it perfectly clear that even the biggest-budget "outdoor concert" can't match the sheer intensity of a good club gig. And you thought Phil Collins at the Greek was gonna be a kick-ass show!
